No Blue Dot

How did I get a blue dot? Did I do something wrong?

No blue dot. I am a single pagee

No, its okay, it can be fixed.

Step One: Create a New Page

Perhaps you have already created a new page. Creating a New Page from the URL line by browsing to the “parent” namespace, for example:

URL: https://[opencpn.org]=opencpn:opencpnopencpn_user_manual:toolbar_buttons:plugins:utility_plugins

Add to the end of the URL a short new page name, using “:“ for the delimiter, all lowercase, with “_” for spaces. For example:

URL: ~ opencpn:opencpnopencpn_user_manual:toolbar_buttons:plugins:utility_plugins:launcher

Make the Content page

  1. Hit Enter. The browser does not find the page “launcher” and sends a message. 'Page Does not exist'.
  2. Find 'Create this page' in the right toolbar at the top.
  3. Once the new page comes up, enter ====== Launcher ====== as the Title
  4. Enter your content into the page.
  5. The “Title” will be used for the Left Indexmenu, so please make it short, to correspond to your page name.
  6. Navigation context is used to help with comprehension.
  7. Then Save the page.

You now have made the page and the page icon shows where a blue dot (namespace) is needed.

No blue dot. I am a single pagee

Step Two: Fix the Blue Dot

We have to add a “blank” page to Fix the way Indexmenu sorts.

  1. Indexmenu sorts Namespaces first and then single Pages second.
  2. Therefore we have to add a blank page under the Launcher page to make Indexmenu sort properly.
  3. Browse to the Launcher page.

URL: ~ opencpn:opencpnopencpn_user_manual:toolbar_buttons:plugins:utility_plugins:launcher

Add :blank to the end of the URL.

URL: ~ opencpn:opencpnopencpn_user_manual:toolbar_buttons:plugins:utility_plugins:launcher:blank

Make the blank page under the Content page.

  1. Hit Enter.
  2. The browser does not find this page “blank” and sends a message. 'Page Does not exist'.
  3. Then 'Create this page' (right toolbar at the top).
  4. In the Edit area type “This page intentionally left blank.
  5. Then Save the page.

The “Page Icon will change to show a Namespace “Blue Dot” as the Indexmenu Navigation Plugin sorts the directories.
